More than 30,000 anglers compete during Rodeo month for more than $100,000 in cash and prizes. But you don't have to enter the tournament—or even fish—to experience it.

A Florida Fishing Tradition Since 1948
The Destin Fishing Rodeo began in 1948 with a practical idea: give anglers another reason to come to Destin.
It worked.
Rodeo organizers eventually moved the competition to October to help extend Destin's visitor season beyond summer. Nearly eight decades later, October and the Rodeo are woven deeply into the identity of Destin.
The event remains closely connected to Destin's charter fleet, fishing families, local businesses, volunteers and the traditions that helped establish the community's reputation as the World's Luckiest Fishing Village.
